Sponsorling’s Story

Sponsorling was inspired by a duo of only 2 streamers of less than 500 followers. Sponsorling is for creators like them.

The founder Connor, created the initial plan based on the goal of supporting his brother Phil, who is a part of duo of Twitch streamers called TactileTK, along with another streamer named Miles.

Connor enjoyed the content they created but he saw how hard it was for them to grow and keep up a schedule when they had to juggle costs, work, streaming, promotion, rest, personal matters such as maintaining their mental health as well as coping with sickle cell disease that afflicts them both, and their outspoken support for others who also struggle with the disease.

He supported both of them through the normal means on major websites but he noticed that the current support for Creators, particularly small and growing ones, were not ideal. Larger direct donation sites take anywhere from 30% to 50% of the money meant for the creators. While other sites take less percentage, they work on a monthly intensive benefit requirement that is hard for both smaller creators as well as creators who have longer form content that may take longer than a month to create. So he sat down and tried to work on an idea for a platform that addressed those issues. Thus the original idea for Sponsorling took flight.

He knew he did not have all the answers so he interviewed other creators, some small like his brother with less than 5,000 views and some larger with millions of views on videos. He did this to hear what they wanted in a platform designed to support them. He also interviewed and spoke with viewers, active donators, and overall supporters of current creators. Because he realized supporters lacked a “Voice” in the content they consume in their favorite creators.

His next step was to work with an accredited website development company to create a Prototype to work out what could and could not be done in the full site. With the prototype finished, the founder created this explanatory website to explain what Sponsorling is and its mission to empower both Content Creators and their Supporters.

Future Plans

At this moment, Sponsorling is just in the prototype and in the pre-design phase as Sponsorling tries to interview more Content Creators from all platforms, all industries, and any level of follower support. The Sponsorling team wants to make a website that does not only support a creator monetarily but their community as well as their growth. So the discovery and spotlight of growing creators would also be a big part of Sponsorling. An example below, taken from the actual prototype is Featured Growing Creators who Sponsorling would Spotlight.

So at this moment while Sponsorling is in the design phase, we want to get it right. So please reach out to us and contact us with what you as a Creator or a future Supporter would like to see in a site made for you.  Sponsorling is also committing to a goal of 5% to max 8% fee on donations as opposed to larger sites’ 30% to 50%, in order to keep the website running while maximizing the money Creators receive.
